A Little Story About Forever

This touching and whimsical film mixes hand-drawn watercolor animation and live action as a father and his 2.5-year-old son try to write a book: What Is Forever? The father, overwhelmed by all the threats to Forever, especially the PFAS forever chemicals, calls an unlikely hero, actor and environmental activist Mark Ruffalo for help in seeing the big picture.

Max Romey is a father, husband, and award-winning Alaskan artist and filmmaker. Like A Little Story About Forever, his film Footprints on Katmai, combines hand-drawn sketches and watercolor animations. It follows his grandmother’s steps on the remote Alaskan island, a journey that portrays both his family history and global issues, including marine debris—much of it footwear—that washes ashore and litters the island.
