Data Center Tipping Point
Data centers play a critical role in society; every text, web search, and medical scan flows through these giant buildings. Now A.I. has turbocharged the demand for data centers, with the electricity that powers them overtaxing the grid. Utilities are rushing to keep up with the surging demand as popular opposition to these behemoths grows. This film visits northern Virginia to examine how it became a global data center hotspot and discusses the future of data center development.

After the film, we were joined for a Q&A about the proposed data center in Jefferson County with the President of Jefferson County Foundation, Inc. Dr. Christine Wimer and filmmaker Kayla Shea.
