We strive to offer these films, most of which are obscure and not otherwise available to the general public, to as many people in as many places as possible, with easy access for all. We want to include people from all backgrounds, locations, socioeconomic levels, and perspectives.

What the Festival Costs to Produce

Your financial support helps us accomplish ALL of these initiatives as well as cover the less glamorous costs of supplies, insurance, permits, and other necessities it takes to remain active, relevant, and effective. If a specific initiative is of special interest to you, your support will be acknowledged accordingly.

Access-for-All Festival – $15,000
We want to offer our Online Festival for free to anyone with access to the internet. This means more viewers, more stories being shared, more people being inspired to take action. It also means access for all, regardless of ability to pay, geographical location, or other limiting factors.

Cash Prizes for Filmmakers – $4,000
Support filmmakers! The following cash awards are given to filmmakers who earn special ACFF recognition:

Green Fire Award for Filmmaking Excellence – $1,000
Green Spark Award for highlighting a conservation hero, pathways to sustainability, or inspiring the next generation – $1,000
Short Film Award (less than 40 minutes) – $1,000
Super Short Film Award (less than 3 minutes) – $500
Audience Choice Award – $500

Film Screening fees – $2,000
Compensate filmmakers for their work by covering screening fees to secure our rights to show certain films. Many more-established filmmakers are able to waive their fees but many are not – they depend on the fees to be able to continue their work.

Technical Support – $3,500
With the transition to a virtual festival model, many additional components and services must be established, tested, and monitored to ensure a seamless viewing experience. We currently have someone with experience in Eventive lined up to do this and just need the funding.

Filmmaker & Guest Speakers – $2,000
Allows us to compensate special guest speakers for their time and expertise in creating supplemental and interactive programming to accompany festival films.

Communications & Outreach – $7,500
Supports professional, informative, inspiring content about our events as well as conservation issues, BIPOC and diversity initiatives, partners’ events, and learning resources that are shared with constituents throughout the year.

Sponsors will be acknowledged in a number of ways, depending on their level of support. All will be listed on our Sponsor Acknowledgement page on our website, with their logo and link to their business or organization. Display ads can be added to specific film pages. Sponsors at the $2,500 level and above can have a 30-second “commercial” included on our Virtual Festival site, with at least month-long exposure to potentially thousands of visitors.

In 2023, we are presenting all festival films in-person, so there will be multiple opportunities to show your support and for us to acknowledge and thank you!

ACFF Circle Of Friends

In 2021, we established a new festival sponsorship level called Circle of Friends which proved to be extremely popular! Invite your friends and colleagues to chip in on a $500 donation to ACFF to be recognized as a sponsor of the festival and receive fun benefits! Maybe it’s a group of three giving $166 each or a group of ten giving $50 each – just let us know the individuals’ names in your group and give your Circle of Friends a special name for acknowledgement.
